Can You Get a Reminder *When* You Get to the Store? (i.e., Using Location) (A: Yes)

Back to list
First, I want to make sure I'm not reinventing the wheel.  What I want to be able to do:
Once I am at a place (so that GPS location is available) I want to be able to enter that into the app and attach a reminder for something to do when I am there so that, the next time I am there, I get a reminder based on location. Is there anything like this?

Short answer: yes—your idea already exists, built-in.

The simplest way (no new app): Apple Reminders

Reminders supports location-based alerts. While you’re physically at the place, create a reminder → tap Location → pick the place (search, recent, or adjust the map pin) → choose When I Arrive. Next time you come back, you’ll get an alert. Apple’s docs explicitly list location alerts and how to add them. Apple Support+1

Power-user option: Shortcuts Automations

If you want something more customized (e.g., run an action when you arrive), you can set a Personal AutomationArrive at a chosen location. iOS lets you adjust the geofence radius on a map. Apple Support

Third-party options (if you prefer a to-do app)
