Insights from Marshall Goldsmith

What got you here won't get you there. This is one classic book - tonnes of learning (learnings). Interestingly, I slammed Triggers after I read it.

Successful people tend to confuse "because of" with "in spite of" - i.e., they are confronted with interpersonal relationship issues late in their career and they're stunned.

Peter Drucker : It may be more important to focus on what you need to NOT do than what you need to do.

Things people don't realize they may need to STOP doing in order to improve relationships :

Winning - all the time, even when it doesn't matter, in every conversation, etc.
Adding value - giving their 2c :) (phew :) )
Passing judgement

Areas to get feedback on :

Do you listen?
Do you share information?
Do you meet deadlines?
Do you gossip too much?
Do you get angry?
